CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami Track and Field team heads out to the snowy Midwest for the University of Arkansas’ Tyson Invitational this Friday and Saturday at the Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville, Ark.

The Tyson Invite is one of the most prestigious collegiate indoor races in the nation, attracting the sport’s top teams.

The men’s squad will be travelling eight student-athletes, including the reigning ACC Performer of the Week Devon Hill.

Hill, who in the 60m hurdle prelims then again in the finals, broke his own school record in the event at the Virginia Tech Elite last weekend. His time of 7.71 seconds ranks as the second-best time in the country this season.

The 60m dash will be well represented for the `Canes as school record holder, Travis Benjamin will lead a trio of Miami football players in the event along with freshman Bassim El-Sabawi.

The women’s squad saw five-time All-America honoree Ti’erra Brown make her season debut in the 4×400 relay last weekend. This weekend, Brown is scheduled to compete in the relay once again as well as the 400m dash.

Sprinters Ashley Dukes and Tarika Williams provide a dangerous one-two punch in the 60m dash, as both find themselves on the program’s Top 5 list in the event.

Friday’s events are broken down into two running event sessions with the first starting at 11 a.m. CST and the second at 6 p.m. CST. Field events are set to begin at 12 p.m. CST.
