Pacific Palisades, Calif. – Miami women’s tennis sophomore Julia Cohen ended her title run at the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships on Sunday afternoon with a consolation championship match defeat to No. 5 Amanda Fink (University of Southern California) on scores of 6-4, 6-2 at the Riviera Tennis Center in Pacific Palisades, Calif.

Cohen, ranked No. 25, entered the match after an amazing upset of No. 15 Megan Falcon Saturday night, but couldn’t carry that over on Sunday as she fell in straight sets. Cohen has collected five wins over ranked opponents this past week at the All-American Championships in her first action with the Orange and Green.

The Philadelphia, Pa. native falls to 6-2 on the year with both losses coming at the hands of top five opponents in the ITA preseason rankings.

The Hurricanes women’s tennis squad gets back to the court on Oct. 24-27 when they travel to the ITA South Regional in Athens, Ga. The event is hosted by the University of Georgia at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex on the campus of UGA.
