Coming off a 63-58 victory at No. 25 Maryland Wednesday night, Miami welcomes 11th-ranked Duke to the BankUnitedCenter Sunday afternoon with an overall record of 9-8 and a 2-1 mark in ACC play.
The victory over the Terrapins marked Miami’s second in as many games over a ranked team this season.
Freshman center Dwayne Collins totaled 14 points and 12 rebounds as the Hurricanes out-rebounding Maryland 55-to-41 while holding the Terrapins to just 22.4 percent shooting.
Averaging 72.2 points per game, the Hurricanes currently rank as one of the better teams in the ACC in three-point shooting, hitting an average of 6.47 three’s per game which ranks fifth among all conference teams.
On the year, sophomore guard Jack McClinton leads the Hurricanes in scoring (17.7) followed by sophomore forward Brian Asbury (11.7), who leads the team in rebounding (6.0).
UM’s hottest player of late has been senior guard Anthony Harris who heads into Sunday’s game averaging 20.0 points over the last three games.
The Blue Devils, led by junior guard DeMarcus Nelson’s 14.8 points per game, head to Coral Gables with an 13-3 and a 0-2 mark in league play after dropping each of their last two games including a 74-63 decision at Georgia Tech Wednesday.
