CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Seven members of the University of Miami men’s tennis team will travel to Lexington, Ky. this weekend for the Wilson ITA Southeast Regionals beginning Friday at the University of Kentucky Boone Tennis Center and Gold’s Gym.
Two of UM’s three nationally ranked players – senior Josh Cohen (No. 54) and sophomore Daniel Vallverdu (No. 70) – will compete at the four-day event which will feature 128 players from 25 different schools, including 21 of the nation’s top 118 singles players. Cohen and Vallverdu drew the tournament’s No. 12 and 14 overall seeds, respectively.
Also making the trip for the Hurricanes will be junior Vivek Subramanian and Miami’s freshman trio of Hector Nieto, Josip Rupena and J.C. Whitner.
Singles action is slated to begin with a qualifying draw Friday morning at 8 a.m.
