The 12th ranked duo of junior Audrey Banada and senior Melissa Applebaum claimed an 8-5 victory over FIU’s Nikkita Fountain/Desanka Jovanovic tandem.
Freshman Monika Dancevic paired up with junior Emily Mowery to defeat FIU’s Bruna Discordia and Courtney Jonson 9-8 (8-6).
The Hurricanes didn’t fair as well in singles competition against players from Florida. The Gators swept all five singles matches against Miami.
The Gator Fall Classic will conclude Sunday morning with the Hurricanes facing FloridaState in doubles beginning at 8:00 a.m. Immediately following doubles, the Miami will take on FIU in singles.
