Tyson Receives Academic All-District Honors

Coral Gables, Fla. – The University of Miami volleyball team’s Elizabeth Tyson was named to the 2004 COSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) Academic All-District 3 Third Team that was announced Thursday.

Tyson, a senior outside hitter from Jacksonville, Fla., is currently fourth on the Hurricanes roster with 160 kills and a 2.39 kills per game average. She is only 38 kills away from becoming only the second player in Miami history to reach the 1,000 career kill mark. Tyson most recently posted her second double-double of the season–a 15 kill, 11 dig effort in the Hurricanes’ five-game win over Maryland November 5th.

A political science major, Tyson has been named to the President’s Honor Roll, the Provost’s Honor Roll and the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll at UM. She is also on the Dean’s List and is a Book Buster at Miami.
