Miami scored 22 runs against Princeton on May 24, 1985; 21 against Bowling Green on May 21, 1998; 19 vs. Wagner on May 26, 2000.The Hurricanes are 46-11 and have won nine straight games. UM’s 46 wins eclipsed last year’s win total of 45.Cesar Carrillo gave up four straight hits – including a three-run home run to Mike Jensen – to North Carolina State to open the game. The four straight hits marked the first time in Carrillo’s career he has allowed four straight hits.Miami improves to 14-0 when Cesar Carrillo starts a game and 17-0 when he makes an appearance. Carrillo in now 10-0 on the season.The Hurricanes are now 41-4 when their starting pitcher throws at least five innings.Adam Ricks double in the first inning was his 12th of the season.Miami hit back-to-back-to-back doubles in Miami’s five-run second inning. Jim Burt, Erick San Pedro and Gaby Sanchez accounted for the three doubles.Jim Burt’s double was the 23rd of the season, tying him for the 10th-most in a season in Hurricanes’ history. The double also moved him alone into fourth-place on Miami’s career doubles list with 56.Jon Jay’s three-run home run to left-center field in the five-run second inning was his fourth of the season. All four home runs have been to the opposite field.Jim Burt was hit with his 13th pitch of the season in the third inning moving him into a tie for fourth place on UM’s season hit by pitch list. He is also third all time in hit by pitches with 26 in his career.Michael Rogers allowed his first walk in 99 consecutive hitters to Brian Barton in the third inning. Rogers had walked five batters in his last six starts. He walked three to tie his season high on the day.Gaby Sanchez hit his sixth home run of the season with a three-run shot in the fourth inning. He doubled in the second inning, singled in the third inning. His six RBI ties a career-high that he set against Pace on May 2, 2003, when he hit for the cycle.NC State’s Michael Rogers allowed 11 runs on 12 hits – all earned – while walking three and striking out two. It marked the most runs allowed in his career. He becomes the first pitcher to allow 10 or more runs to the Hurricanes since Jacksonville’s Dennis Robinson gave up 11 on May 8, of the year. Robinson enter the game tied for second nationally in wins.Jim Burt blasted his 13th home run of the season with a three-run shot in the fifth inning. The career-best 13 home runs this season give him 35 for his career and tie him for the ninth all time in UM history with Frank Dominguez, who played for the Hurricanes from 1985-88.Paco Figueroa’s made his first appearance since April 11 at Florida State as a defensive replacement in center field in the ninth inning.
