CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami women’s track team climbed two spots to No.12 in the latest Trackwire Rankings released on Tuesday evening.

The Hurricanes received 19 total points to tie with Colorado for the No. 12 spot.

Miami moved up two spots from No. 14 in last weeks rankings after an impressive performance at last weekend’s Gator Invitational in Gainesville, Fla. that saw three school records fall.

Junior All-American Lauryn Williams (Rochester, Pa.) broke the school record in the 55-meters with a time of 6.70 seconds, automatically qualifying her for the 2004 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships. Senior Adrienne Moss (Miami, Fla.) topped the Miami weight throw record, which she also owned, with a throw of 17.13 meters and sophomore Melanie Schultz (Davison, Mich.) broke the UM record in the one mile run with a time of 5:01.87.

The 12th-ranked Hurricanes will return to action on Feb. 13-14, traveling to Fayetteville, Ark. to take part in the Tyson Invitational.
