Former Hurricane Davian Clarke Wins Gold Medal

Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic (hurricanesports.com) – Former University of Miami great Davian Clarke (Kingston, Jamaica) anchored the Jamaican 4×400-meter relay to the Gold medal at the Pan American Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

The Jamaican team, which also consisted of Michael Campbell, Sanjay Ayre and Lansford Spence, recorded a time of 3:01.81 to narrowly defeat the United States which took the silver with a time of 3:01.87.

Clarke, a two-time NCAA Champion and 1996 Olympic Bronze medalist in the 4×400-meter relay, competed for the University of Miami from 1995-1998.
