Philadelphia, PA (hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miami women’s 4×100-meter relay and 4×400-meter relay both won their qualifying heats to advance to their respective finals at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, PA.

The Hurricanes’ fifth-ranked 4×100-meter relay won their heat in a time of 45.27 to advance to Friday’s final. Miami will face some of the nation’s top squads on Friday including No. 1 LSU, No. 2 South Carolina, No. 3 Texas, No. 4 Auburn, No. 6 Texas Christian, No. 8 Indiana and No. 10 Houston.

Miami’s 4×400-meter relay also won its heat in a time of 3:38.60 to advance to Saturday’s final. UM, which is ranked fourth in the nation, will take on No. 1 Texas, No. 2 South Carolina, No. 6 San Diego State, No. 15 Florida and No. 25 Tennessee State. Rounding out the field will be Seton Hall and St. Augustine’s.

Individually, senior All-America Gina Harris (Philadelphia, PA) finished sixth in the long jump championship (6.00m/19-08.25), senior All-America Jamillah Wade (Philadelphia, PA) took fifth in the 400-meter hurdle final (59.12), junior Adrienne Moss (Miami Northwestern) finished ninth in the shot put championship (14.45m/47-05.00) and sophomore Amber Williams (Succasunna, NJ) finished 14th in the college long jump (5.81m/19-00.75).
