The 11th-ranked Miami baseball team returns home to face second-ranked Florida State in a three-game series that begins on Friday, April 18th at 7 p.m. at Mark Light Field.

The Hurricanes enter the weekend with a 28-7 record after beating FIU 6-4 on Wednesday night. The Seminoles are 34-6 on the season with a 5-4 win over Jacksonville on Wednesday.

Fox Sports Net Florida will carry all three games with Friday night’s contest being carried on a tape-delayed basis at 10 p.m. The Saturday contest is also at 7 p.m. and Sunday’s game is at 1 p.m. with both games being carried live. Frank Forte will handle play-by-play duties with Wicho Hernandez on color.

The student voice of the Hurricanes, WVUM 90.5 FM will carry all three gamew, while UM’s Spanish broadcasting partner, WNMA 1210 AM, will carry Friday and Saturday’s games. Miami’s flagship station (WQAM) will broadcast Saturday and Sunday’s games.

Miami will use its normal starting pitching rotation of J.D. Cockroft on Friday, Vince Bongiovanni on Saturday and Brandon Camardese on Sunday. Bongiovanni returns after missing his last start with a forearm strain.

Florida State will counter with three left-handers, Trent Peterson (6-1, 2.35) on Friday, Matt Lynch (8-2, 3.53) on Saturday and Daniel Davidson (6-0, 1.40) on Sunday.

Florida State leads the all-time series 118-105 after taking five-of-six games from the Hurricanes last season. UM won five-of-six games over FSU in the 2001 season and six-of-seven games during the 1999 campaign. Both seasons Miami went on to win the College World Series.

Florida State enters the game with a 2.44 team ERA, which ranks third nationally, and a .297 team batting average. Miami sports a .313 team batting average and a 4.18 team ERA.
