WE'll Be Back - Page 9

Visit Hurricane Headquarter! – From Philip D. Plybon: Huntington, WV : GO CANES!I am one of your die hard fans who traveled to Morgantown, Knoxvilleand Miami to watch you guys play tremendous football this year 2002.To me there is NO football like Miami Hurricane football. I was raisedin Ohio and was a Ohio State fan for many years. I moved to Florodain 87 and was quickly impressed with Miami style of exciting football.I went to all your home games for 11 years and saw the BIG games. Iws there when Washington ended our streak! Well, I had NO problem rooting for the CANES against Ohio State this year. It was a GREAT game of defense. It wasn’t one of our best offensive games and Dorsey wasn’t on his usual game. We played hard and fought all the way.It is a shame that a ref call ended our march toward our repeat! I will be there in 2003 rooting all the way with all my heart! THANKS for thegames. GO CANES!

tj martin: columbus, ohio: MY BROTHER AND I HAVE ALWAYS MAINTAINED THE “HURRICANE ATTITUDE”. HE IS A PRINCIPLE IN CLEVELAND OHIO. HE HAS HIS PHD IN EDUCATION. WHEN HE TAUGHT IN THE CLASS ROOM HE EVEN EXPRESSED THE “HURRICANE ATTITUDE ” TO HIS STUDENTS. IAM CURRRENTLY STUDYING TO BE A MASSAGE AND PHYSICAL THERAPIST. I ALSO KEEP THAT ATTITUDE WITH ME IN AND OUT OF CLASS. IT IS A GOOD THING NOT BAD. WHAT THAT ATTITUDE MEANS TO ME IS: “BE THE BEST”.

I HAVE ALREADY ORDERD MY SHIRT. AND WE WILL BE BACK. THERE ARE NO MORAL VICTORIES IN CANE CITY. WE EITHER WIN OR WE WIN. I WAS SO MAD I EARNED AN “A” ON MY FIRST EXAM THIS QTR. MY POINT: STAY MAD. MY BROTHER AND I ARE STILL PRAYING FOR THE DAY WE CAN COME TO THE ORANGE BOWL TO SEE A GAME. THIS MAY SOUND STRANGE TO YOU BUT MIAMI FOOTBALL HAS PUT URGENCY AND INTENSITY IN MY LIFE. AND THAT MEANS ALOT TO ME. GO CANES!

Ty & Blake: Coral Springs, FL : CANES .. Congrats on another AWESOME season. We want you to know that the Fiesta Bowl has been played 14 more times on our Playstation at home and the CANES have kicked the Buckeyes butts in each game … Same as the “REAL” results in the game on Jan 3rd. We even turned up the Officiating sensitivity and played some of the “Game Cheats” for OSU to simulate the same crap you all were up against and the CANES still win! We will continue to pound the Buckeyes throughout the off season and cant wait until this fall to see you at the OB …. GOOOoooooooooooooo C-A-N-E-S CANES !!

Drew Griesen: Canton, Ohio: Sorry that I’m late in writing this. But being a HURRICANE fans for over 23 yrs. And living in OHIO (especially this year) is great. Every year All I hear is “man we’ve got a good team ,if”, I just smile and reply,”MAN

WEV’VE GOT A GREAT TEAM”. This year was especially a great year due to all of the key people that left the program. But it also showed that with work and great coaching, thing work out. I had little doubt that THE ‘CANES would get back to the title game, The biggest different I have seen over the past few years, is the way the team carries itself on and off the field, which is why, Even after 6 times(some channels up here are still playing the game”I was proud to be a ‘CANE……..BEST TO ALL AND WILLIS HOPE TO SEE BACK…..

Kenneth Kline: Reading, PA : Great Season ‘Canes!!!! Don’t get discouraged, keep your heads up and come back next year like a runaway train. We all know who the real Champions are this year, BCS and the Big 12 officials just had to have one thing go their way this season and we all know y’all were robbed. God Bless you all and keep up the awesome Domination! PS- I hope Willis is doing alot better, stay focused and don’t give up, keep working hard on your recovery and may God be with you!

Murielle Jean-Pierre: Miami,Florida: Hey what’s up!Hey CANES how are you all doing? I just want to say thank you for representing Miami at the FIESTA BOWL.Also my thoughts and prayers got out to Willis McGahee. I really hope that you get better. It was really hard for me to actually understand why you went down but after I looked at the replays I just practically almost cried. So hang in there Willis cause you know MIAMI loves you!!!!God Bless all you CANES!!!!! And no matter what, whether you win or lose remember MIAMI will always love you.

Steven Rickabaugh: Robertsdale,PA: Hey i know for a fact that miami will be back next year they will win everything and they will absolutely beat ohio and i cant wait i hope willis Mcgahee comes back when talk to you guys later.

Your Friend, Steven

David Gagliano: New Castle, PA : Im dave from the middle of Buckeye and Panther country, and I have to be the biggest hurricane fan there is and it was hard to put up with the loss but, you guys played it tough, thanks for the great season. Hopefully this generation is the years of the hurricanes, Keep your head up there is still alot of talented players coming up keep it going hopefully I will watch u guys win next year in PITT. Goodluck Canes keep it goin.

Julio Leblanc: Miramar, Florida: Keep your heads high. We won the game and there is no doubt about that. We are the true national champs and next year we will win again. Good luck in 2003

Eric Newsome Bardstown,Kentucky : Thanks to everyone from the players to the coaches for another great year.I made the trip down there for the Florida State game and consider myself the biggest Cane fan in Kentucky. You Seniors have been part of something very special and because of your hard work and determination you have brought MIAMI back to the top of college football. I am looking forward to next year.GO CANES. Eric

Mark Lucey SR.: Windsor, CT: Watching the Fiesta Bowl Loss was a tough pill to swallow. That Phantom Pass Interference call was absolutely horrendous. That play was simply one thing and one thing only “Pass Defended” not interference. The defender made the play on the ball just after the ball got into the receiver’s hands not before and he was BEHIND the receiver not in front of him with his back turned, nor was there any illegal contact made before or just as the ball got to the receiver. So tell me Mr. Official just what on God’s Green Earth were you looking at ???!!

Anyway I know that the Hurricanes will Blow Through the Schedule again next season and bring Title # 06 to The Orange Bowl. With the talents of Kellen Winslow Jr., Frank Gore, D.J. Williams, Kevin Beard, Ethnic Sands, Antrell Rolle, Vince Wilfork, Shawn Taylor, and of course my “MAINMAN” Jonathan “The Hit Villian” Vilma this team will be back in National Title Contention. Mr Vilma reminds me alot of another great Hurricane (MLB) who just happens to wear # 52 for the Baltimore Ravens. I would give anything to see Mr. Vilma within the next couple of years wearing a Royal Blue Helmet, that has the Red Stripe running down the center of it outfitted with the lower case white “NY ” on each side. Being a Giants fan it would really be something special to see ” The HIT VILLIAN” smash (QB’S, RB’s, TE’S, ETC) like Pinieta’s on Sunday afternoons at Giants Stadium. Hopefully you are reading this Giants’ G.M. (Ernie Accorsi) and Head Coach (Jim Fassel) and you draft ” the Hit Villian !

“. Jonathan Vilma in my opinion has the potential to be another Ray Lewis or maybe quite possibly even better, I.E. (Mike Singletary, Dick Butkis, Etc.)

Most of all my Heart, Soul, and Prayers go to Willis McGahee for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you for your hardwork, dedication, and for being the one of best (rb’s) to come out of UM since Edgerin James. You, Andre Johnson, Ken Dorsey, and all of the others that are NFL bound will make The Hurricanes’ Football program shine like the Hot South Florida Sunshine. God Bless all of you and your families.

Kenneth J. Bell Jr. Stuart, Florida : I just want to say congrads on a terrific year. “WE WAS ROBBED” in no uncertain terms but I will get over that. Personally , I have never been more proud to say it aloud , I’m a HURRICANE FAN !!! The last few years , the program from top to bottom , has shown a total commitment and class.I wish Coach Coker, his staff and players nothing but the best in the future and I’ll be waving the CANES banner strong and proud.Your the best as coaches and student-athletes but most importantly as men.

Sincerely ,

Kenny B.

Kyle Brunner : St.Peters,Mo : Hey guys you played agreat game.I watched the whole game with my dad.My dad wanted Ohio to win.My whole family was telling to shutup because when you guys got a first down I went crazy.Hey who ever had that pass interference in the endzone in over time, that was not pass interference, even my dad didn’t think interference. So dont feel bad.I still wear my Hurricanes clothes. people think I’m crazy, and willis I hope youget better. Sincerely, Kyle Brunner

Michelle Borsz: Parma, Ohio : Even though I am a Buckeyes fan, I gotta tell you guys how awesome you are. The Canes had an amazing season!!! To Ken Dorsey – I have gained such respect for your talent and poise this season especially. Congrats on an outstanding college career. I hope to see you in the NFL soon…if you ever end up in Cleveland you will make a lot of people up here really happy (well, especially me, I cant lie) Whatever you do, I wish you the best of luck!

#11 fan,Michelle 😉

Brian Ringo: West Monroe, La. : I am so impressed and happy with the way you guys fought through adversity all season long and played like the true champions that you are. I have been a Hurricane fan since the 80’s and you guys are one of my favorite all time teams. I look forward to seeing you play in Shreveport next season against La. Tech. Look for me, I will be the Cajun yelling the loudest. As a longtime Cane supporter, I can tell you all of my fellow Miami supporters here in Louisiana are very proud of you and will be behind you all the way.

Rick Matayabas: Swannanoa, nc : Thank all of you for a great season. once again i have cheered for each of you durring this season. i was unable to make it to a live game but i was there in spirit. I just wanted to let the coaching staff and all the players how much I have appreciated and enjoyed each and every game, im hoping that my son will have the talent and knowledge to make it at Miami. there is one thing.

Reid Parnell: Little Rock, Arkansas : Though I haven’t been a Miami fan for as long as the hundreds of thousands of others out there, I still feel I have loved the Canes all of my life. I watched that National Champ game over and over, and I still grit my teeth and have a fit whenever I see that horrible pass interference call. The Canes will indeed be back with a vengeance, and I hope to see you all ruin all the opposition with the true might of the Hurricanes, and one day, I hope to join the legend and come down and play for the Canes. But until then, all I offer is support, along with all other fans. Go Canes!!!

Ron Wright: Lebanon, Ohio : I would like to take a minute and apologize for the crap that came from the National Title game aganist Ohio State. I have been a Hurricanes Fan for many years and living in the state of Ohio I am taking the heat for it now. I will always be a Hurricane at heart and have watched just about every televised game I can find. Since the game I have endured many things such as harrassment, taunting, and even had my jersey destroyed by people who can’t stand the fact that I have the guts to stand up and defend U of M. I have told people that if they can live with a tainted championship then more power to them. Ohio State won a couple games this season by refs that gave them last minute crap calls that won the game for them. Long story short you guys should be proud and know that even in the State of Ohio there is still Hurricane believers who know who the true Champions are.

Mark James: Topeka, KS: There isn’t anything I can say that will be of much significance to you, but I just thought you guys should know that your fans are still behind you and we look forward to next seasons success. You should be very proud of your accomplishments this season. Take care.

Rodolfo Tomarchio : Miami, Fl : Dear Hurricanes, All of you are still number one in my book. You proved to everyone in the country you can come back from behind late in the game and still pull off a victory in clutch situations, it’s unfortunate the year had to end on such a controversial note, but you will surely be back next year! Just show no mercy towards every one of your opponents. A bias against Miami remains after all the hard work and dedication this entire program has put in over the past few year. All of you make me proud to be a Miami fan. The ‘Canes are still the epitome of what every college team in the country want to be. It is obvious that no matter how many mountains you climb, this generation of Hurricanes is not recieveing the respect you deserve so please for next year, beat the respect into every team you play. Full-speed from the start and never hold back, Berlin throwing play -action bombs for td’s late in the 4th quarter, and FrankGore breaking it wide open all day long. To recieve respect, you m!

ust annihalate every opponent as disrespectful as that may seem to other programs, but that is not Miami’s fault. You have already presented yourselves as professionals and the most sportsman-like of all the teams, but now you must beat the respect into them. It has become a last resort. Stay healthy, train hard over the summer, and I will be looking forward to another amazing year of Hurricane football! Thanks for the memories to all the leaving players, especially Ken Dorsey, you will always be remembered as one of the greatest Miami quarterbacks ever, you have nothing to ashamed of because you are at a level higher than all the crtics can say about you. Go CANES!! Sugar Bowl 2006

“NO MERCY!”

Tony Patrick: Big Stone Gap. Virginia : The best football team ever, next year! Even better than the last two!!! Whooooo go Canes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love all of you for the footbsll,

Tarrell: Forestville,MD : My comments as far as the Tositos Bowlare that those referies had to be paid.By myself being a DB I could clearly see that the penalty was a big mistake.I know that you all will have better luck next year.I would like to conclude this message and say God bless everyone, rather if they go to the NFL or will be returning next year. Tarrell Jones

Kevin Mallory : Valrico Florida : I would like Coach Croker, ths staff and players know that this was an incredible run for the ‘Canes. I’ve been a staunch supporter of the ‘Canes since the first National Championship under Coach Schenlberger. I was not happy with the outcome of the game and a bad call is just an by-product of human nature. All I want you all to know is that sometime the ‘best’team does not win. Keep your chins up and keep the faith. The dynasty is still in place, just build on it.

Drew Griesen: Canton, Ohio: Congrats, on a great ’02 season. As a CANES fan of both FOOTBALL & BASEBALL for over 23 years, I truly enjoyed the games this year. Here in Ohio I have always had A*****es get down on me for being a Cane, but you know what, I still have the last laugh, We don’t wait 35 years between championships. You showed real class in a hard defeat, and that is really a turn around from former teams. Next year should be a great one, with Brock Berlin, It’ll be hard to replace Ken, but I think he’ll do alright. And whatever Willis decides to do I hope 1st and foremost he is healthy and if he stays glad to have him back. It still one of the best college football games I have watched in a long time, even if you didn’t played your finest game.

k laubenthal: plantation fl : Awesome season! Been in the stands as season ticket holders since 1978. Thoroughly enjoyed all the excitement that you guys provided. Went to the Rose Bowl last year and watched one of the most angst ridden games this year. What a championship game. You were robbed but it will go down as one of the greatest championship games ever. Thanks for the memories. I’ll be following your stellar careers in the pros next year when the college season ends.

Rick Dragonetti: Miami: Chins up guys, you had a fantastic season, the last 3 seasons. The whole country, even people from Ohio, say Miami was the better team. Its true,I read Ohio fan feedback.Lots of them know the Canes deserve their 6th championship. This team will be back for the big show this coming season.Lets start a new streak!GO CANES!!!!!!!!!!

The Marzetti Family: Columbus, OH : Hey Canes, We live in the heart of The Ohio State University, and we watched that game on Jan. 3rd. We like to call it “The Robbery”. We all know that you guys won that National Title. The Buckeyes, or as some call them over the internet, ” The LUCKeyes”, they were GIVEN that title. And that call that the ref had made in the endzone in OT, proved it. As a football player, I know that you guys were robbed, and I know you played your hearts out that entire game. I do give both teams credit. Both teams played their hearts out, and they were very well matched. It will definately be a game that will go into the history books. We wish McGahee a speedy recovery. And as of Jan. 3rd, 2003, you have 2 more fans. GO CANES!!!! And GOOD LUCK!!!

: Nick and Mary Stiglich: Chicago, Illinois : To My Beloved Miami Hurricanes:

Hold your heads high and be proud! We are so proud of what you accomplished this season and are looking forward to many exciting seasons in the years to come. Once a Hurricane…Always a Hurricane…We will never forget the good times, the joy of winning and the pride you gave all of us. You have handled the adversity of this season, the winning streak and the outcome of the Fiesta Bowl with TOTAL CLASS. Winning is awesome but how you handle losing is even MORE IMPORTANT! All season you reached down deep inside your bellies and found strength, courage, determination, and leadership. You DID NOT QUIT. YOU NEVER GAVE UP AND YOU SHOWED THE WORLD WHAT WE DO AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI.

WE WILL BE BACK!

We will support you in the good times and the bad times. We are Hurricanes Forever and we will never forget how proud you made us feel all year. It was a great year for so many reasons. We wish Willis Magahee a full recovery and best of luck in the Pro’s…Ken Dorsey…thanks for all that you have done for the University of Miami…You will be successful in whatever you decide to do. You are a winner. IT’S GREAT TO BE A MIAMI HURRICANE…IT’S GREAT TO BE A MIAMI HURRICANE…IT’S GREAT TO BE A MIAMI HURRICANE! See you at the Orange Bowl this year! Nick and Mary

Ban Hong: Los Angeles, CA: To the Canes,

I knew that the some ref would eventually make some gutless call to ruin the streak, I just did not know that Terry Porter would wait for what felt like a lifetime to let the OSU sideline influence him. This had to be the most painful Hurricane game in my tenure as a Hurricane fan, even more than the ’87 Fiesta bowl when I was just ten years old and really caring about college football for the first time. The Fiesta Bowl Sucks! You guys are still the best by far and hopefully you guys will crush the opponents next year by such wide margins that the refs won’t be able to steal the national title from you guys. Kick ass next year and good luck to all the players, especially Willis, Kevin, and Cornelius in their efforts to recover from their injuries and play in the pros. Good luck to all the future pros, I always watch for Miami alums in the NFL. I hope the people at Ohio State are happy with their stolen title for the next year because it’s coming back to Miami after the ’04 Sugar Bowl. Go Canes!

Ernesto Garcia: Lexington, NC : Great season guys! Next year we leave no doubt who the best team is. Take mercy on no one and punish all who oppose us. I will be rooting for you all the way.

octavio girbau: manhattan beach, california : Congratulations on a great season. I was at the Fiesta Bowl, alhough we came up short, it was a magnificent effort. I am so proud of the way the team played and the way they comported themselves after. No excuses, you tip your cap to Ohio State and you get ready for next year. As a huge sports fan I enjoy watching the Canes play more than any other sports team, and that includes the Dolphins for which I had season tickets during the undefeated season. Good luck next year.

“The Canes can and the Canes will!”

Diego T. Torres II, MD: Ormond Beach, FL : Guys,In all my years as a Hurricane fan I’ve never seen such a valiant effort form my beloved hurricanes. Tired, sweaty, bloody, you guys never gave up until the last whistle. That’s what makes a true champion. You were hunted down by other teams because you are the best. Unfortunately the title was stolen away and I can say that because I had the advantage of instant replay on my television. Nonetheless, you guys fought until the very end, like soldiers protecting their kingdom. Yes, penalties were missed, like the hit on Dorsey in overtime. But if it took thing like that for Ohio State to win, then you all are still the champs in my book. Look forward to seeing you play next year. GO CANES!!!

Esther Fernandez: Hialeah, Florida: This message is for Ken Dorsey and the rest of the team. You are the best you played and fought like Champions, and in our Hearts you are #1. You were lead by a great leader #11 and it broke our hearts to see you sitting in the field defeated. You all need to hold your heads up high there is nothing to be ashamed of. You brought alot of joy and thrills to your fans these past years and we will be looking forward to more of the same next season. To the seniors we look forward to seeing you doing well in the pro’s. Good luck, may God bless you and keep you strong. A lifetime Canes Fan.

Gary Perry: Jacksonville, Florida : Good Job Guys !Like everyone else, I hate the outcome of things but some things we just cannot control. Thanks for a great season. All of you should be very proud. I know I’m proud of all of you. I have been a Cane Fan since the 50’s.We will be back !

Dwayne P. Hamer: St.Louis : Use the not so pleasant outcome as fuel for next year. Show the world why ya’ll have been number (still should be ,less for one zebra’s lapse in judgement)for the last two years (should have been three). Good luck next year. Die Hard Canes Fan!!

Jeanette Dessimoz: North Lauderdale, FL: Congratulations on a terrific season. You are my national champs EVERY year. We are all so proud of every memeber of the team. You guys have put Miami on the map as not only a great football power but also as one of the CLASSY acts around. You guys do it with style and dignity.Hats off to a great coaching staff, too. I’ve been a canes fan since 1957 when I lived down the street from the Orange Bowl. Many thanks for a great year. Jeanette Dessimoz

shawn gammons2City : battle creek, mi3Email : dascentman@yahoo.com4Message : Hey to all my cane fans all over the world. We will be back next year so all the non believers and haters just better beware because one loss in 34 tries won’t get this program down. We will be better this upcoming year.

Laura Connock : Cincinnati OH: Hats off to the Miami Hurricanes! As you can see by my e-mail address, I am a die hard Buckeye fan, and Alum. However I wanted to write you to let you know that you guys played a great game. I have never felt bad for “the other team” when my team wins, and I know you don’t want to hear that an OSU fan feels bad for you, but I did. My heart goes out to your group for all your effort and hard work. My husband rooted when we took Dorsey out for a minute at the end, but I told him not to, because he deserved to finish the game, win or lose, with pride, grace and dignity, not going out with his head spinning. I am glad he was able to come back in and finish the game, and he and the entire team should be proud of their efforts. Here’s to meeting you at the championship again in 2004!!!!!!!
