I was able to attend the game this year against West Virginia and I just want to say that I’m a Cane fan until the day I die. jim connor and family, jupiter,fl: Thank You seniors,

My family has attended all but twohome games in the past three years, prior to that we would chose onegame per season.

The past few years were special,as thecanes were coming back!!! The close lossto Penn State, the fantastic victory overFlorida State, the left knee of Rumph and quick hands of Walters saved thbc game!!!!! I could go on and on…..

My wife has enjoyed cane fest—- My daughter enjoyed sitting behindthe bench and also meeting players andfamily at the buses. We also were ableto attend the Gator game this year–we met the players at the bus..I enjoyed every minute and even watchingthe game on sports channel sunday night.

Well guys go out and finish off Ohio State!!! Please no double reversesor halfback options..

Thank you and may you prosper in thefuture… Best Regards jim, sandy and Meghan connor

Samantha: Ocala, FL: As a UM student, I am so proud of all of you! You have done such a great job representing our school. I wish you the best of luck! Go Canes!

Clinton Houk : Franklin Ky: congrates on your amazing season Ken Dorsey completed an amazing career on the colligate stage. Good luck Ken on your future plans and in the Championship Game. Also cangradulation to Willis on his great year and we all hope he will come back for another amazing year. GOOD LUCK IN THE FIESTA BOWL

Jim Matthews: Tequesta, FL: We have had the privilege of watching the CANES since moving to FL in 1981. We were actually at most all of the memorable games. “thrill of victory, agony of defeat” surely was penned for the CANES. Tough schedules, tough to schedule when so many refused to play, the national “love em or hate em” frenzy, the vague “lack of institutional control” probation, and now – in the middle of a NEW DYNASTY!!

The most remembered play this year may be “Payton to Dorsey” or as us fans named “hello, Earth to Chudzinski??”. But, it won’t replace the “Doug Flutie Hail Mary” or the “Testaverde Penn State Interception”. The difference is it was just another small bump in the greatness that is CANES’ football.

THANKS to all the ‘CANES’ Seniors for the last four years of fantastic sportsmanship on and off the gridiron – and please, just one more win before great careers on Sunday!!

Miami Ed: Falls Church, VA. : Seniors have a chance to win back-to-back NCAA Championships. The team will miss you but I know that they will Thank You for your friendship and leadership.

Brandon Riley: Taftville, Ct: THE CANES ARE THE BEST TEAM IN THE NATION. kEN DORSEY IS THE BEST QB IN THE NATION AND SHOULD WIN THE HEISMAN TROPHY. GO CANES AND WIN THE 2ND CONSECUTIVE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP AND CONTINUE THE UNBEATEN STREAK.

Larry J. Suarez : Miami, Fl : Do it again CANES !!!

MARK L. LUCEY SR.: WINDSOR, CT: You guys should really be proud of yourselves for the acomplishments you have all made. Regardless of whether or not you achieve instant success in the NFL, nothing can ever take away what you gave to the University, the Team, and to us as Fans. Let me be the first to say as a 17 year fan of the Hurricanes Football program that you guys as players and as MEN have brought a sense of PRIDE and DOMINANCE to the U of M. Not since 1991 and 1992 have I seen such a Powerful team on both sides of the Football. I have had the Priveledge to see you guys play most recently at Rutgers this past Nov 2 and on Nov 4, 2000 against Va. Tech at the Orange Bowl. I Flew on a plane with my Wife all the way from CT to see my beloved Cane’s for the first time ever. Let me say this, Miami is a absolutely breath taking city. The U of M Campus is second to none, and that game on 11/04/00 is one I WILL NEVER FORGET EVER. In closing Thank You for being the outstanding student athletes youare and much like you predicessors you will achieve great success in the NFL. Best of Luck to all of you. God Bless.. P.S. Well, thanks for backing up all of my boasting by steamrolling ALL of the competition again! Finish the job in Arizona! Good luck Willis and Ken (been saying “Kenny Heisman” the last two years) in the Heisman voting! And finally, a huge thank you to the D-line for destroying everyone all year! Jerad Ciarus

tommy marks: indianapolis: I’ve been a diehard hurricane fan as long as i can remember and i want to tell u guys that you are the best senior class ever.To go undefeated 2 years in a row is an amazing feat.I’ve been talking to Ohio State fans all year and they have been talking so much junk about Clarrett and how he is gonna run all over Miami but there is no way possible.i keep telling them Ohio State hasn’t seen speed like Miami in the big 10 and that you guys are gonna kill them.Good luck and to all the seniors thank you for putting Miami back on top where they belong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ryan Solis: Duncan, OK: Hey Ken! Great year! Are you turning Pro? If you are, good luck and I hope you get picked by a good team.

Go Canes!!!

Ann Medina : Immokalee, FL : Let me just say first of all, I am a huge Hurricanes fan. But, I hadn’t been able to have the oppertunity to attend a Hurricanes game until I went to the Miami/V.Tech game. I’ll have to say, I had the best time ever, and I was very fortunate to have had attended the last home game of the season, and the last home game of the “Ken Dorsey” To Ken, and the rest of the seniors of 2003. I would just like to say, thank you for the great games, and I wish you all the greatest success in your football careers, and in whatever you choose to do in life. It has been a privlege to watch you play for all these years. You guys are a special group of players and will always hold a special place in each of our hearts. Good Luck with your future. You will be missed.

Hurricane for Life,

Les Goldsmith : Hillsborough, NJ: My wife and I are UM graduates and our daughter Kate is a Junior. We have been great supporters of the program for years, Hurricane Club and Season Ticket holders even though we live in NJ. You make us very proud to be UM Alumni. I hope you enjoy being Alumni as much as we have. Best of luck for a great game in Arizona and in life. We will be there to cheer you on!

allan mauro : Norway Michigan: I just wanted to say great job to Ken Dorsey. He has stuck it through all the annoying critics and all there talking. I think he is the best QB in the ncaa and deserves to be where he is at.

Crystal D. Finley: Orlando, Fl: I have been a fan since birth literally; my parents wrapped me up in a blanket less than a year old and hauled me off to games.

I now live in Central Florida (and quite a bit older), and those “other” fans surround me. Through all the relentless teasing I have always known the Canes are #1 at all times. I will always be a Cane fan and am so proud of this year’s team. Each and every one of you has shown class and pride that are not matched by anyone.

It is my belief that the entire team is a Heisman winner, so if its #11 or #2 that wins this year, all of you win.

Good luck, study hard, practice hard, and know that you are the best!!! You are Hurricanes, and with that you are Simply the Best….

Renaming Florida to “Cane Country”

Chris: Canada: Thanks to all seniors for their blood, sweat and tears that took this team from it’s darkest days to it’s greatest ever. You have shown the nation that Miami can win and dominate but do it with class this time around. Kudos to Brett Romberg. Not only did you prove Canadians can play this sport, you have proven that a Canadain can become a star. You have re-invented the center position and have taken a step to make it a position young kids will want to play. Best of luck in the Fiesta Bowl and with your future endevours. Go Canes.

Edye: Jacksonville, Fl: I just want to let you all know how proud I am of all of you. I have been a diehard fan for years and years. I have always stuck by you no matter what. I now live in a city of obnoxious Gator fans and rude Noles fans. My car wears your license plates PROUDLY on the front and the back. Ny son will never forget the trip we made to be present when you all whooped Washington 65 to whatever. I have no doubt at all that I will have to replace my 5 National Championship license plate with a new one. “6 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS”

GOOD LUCKEdye

David Vaina: Washington, DC: Ken Dorsey and Brett Romberg:Hey guys. After moving back to the US, the first game I watched was the Miami-Penn State game in September 2001. Thanks for the memories, David Vaina

Dorsey, You have given this team a leadership like no other. As it is said on sportsline.com, you could lead us into a molecular physics and find a way for us all to pass. And we would all follow you. I have been following this team for years and have never seen a team with this much spirit in it. Our kicking game has been sound, our passing game has been almost perfect, and our offensive line has been great. To the defense, what can we say about you all. I have see some of you eat dinner, woa………dont get in the way of that. Mcdougal, Walters, Green…..and the rest of you……….you are the best….no matter what anyone else says. Seivers and capshaw, the greatest special team !specialists combo i have ever seen. Mr. Romberg……Sir……you are like a god around here. You have always backed us up, and i thank you for that. Thank you all for all the help and all the excitement you have given us. I dont think i will ever scream more in 4 years than i have with you all. You are probably the best senior class i have ever seen leave miami, and i hate to see you all leave. You guys are truely unbelievable football players and I would like to congratulate the whole Miami team on returning to the National Championship!!Dorsey, McGahee, Johnson, Winslow, the OFF.line, special teams, defense…I truely must say I never enjoyed watching a team play. My bloodpressure fluctuates every Saturday! I really did not start watching college football until about 4years ago when I got into college (I go to Rutgers University), I only watched the NFL. I never really was a Rutgers football fan (I was one of the few to root for Miami when they came to play here)but Miami captured me with their unbelievable team work, athleticism, and those hits that I see every Saturday, I Love it! I have been a Miami since then and I will remain one! By the way, Ohio State does not have a chance and forget the Heisman, I’d rather have a 38-1 record and 2 Rings!

GO CANESHURRICANES ARE #1!!!!!!

Rev. Donald Barnard Ph.D.: Sunrise, Fl.: Gentlemen,

Nicely done.

Much has been made of the close calls the team has encountered this season, though a look at the Buckeye’s stats, esecially near the end of their schedule, shows much the same. Also a team trhat does what it needs to do to win, do not take them lightly. They are a proud, talented and well coached collection of atheletes and will not be easily intimidated or dismissed

Weaknesses crop up, but these have been suspisiously transient, and any team seeking to exploit them has seen them disappear when push comes to shove. You adapt and correct admirably, depriving opponents of a solid winning strategy. Only Brutus could kill Brutus, so is it with you.

A large margin of victory might please politicians, gamblers and “pretender to the throne”, but champions need not run up the score on opponents, they have nothing to prove.

You have played with measured intensity and practical application of force to earn the right to defend your title. You have conducted yourselves in a manner which brings honor to yourselves, your school, and NCAA football in general.

Past, present, future.

Legacy, dynasty, empire.

Mind, body, spirit.

Take care of the first two, the third follows naturally.

Godspeed gentlemen.

Rev. D. Barnard

Pat Ginther: Wernersville: Congratulations on putting ‘cane football back on top where it belongs. Years from now you can look back and honestly say you had a big part of that, because all of you were there when things were down for a bit. I don’t think there will ever be a senior class like this one at any program in the country. It has been a pleasure watching all of you over the years, all those great games, from the blowouts (hello penn state, nebraska, florida state, florida, washington, tennessee) and close calls (boston college, va tech, fsu) and the very few losses. no matter what the outcome, you guys always exhibited poise and great attitudes! good luck in your futures!

Go out there and show Virginia Tech that we don’t lose in the Orange Bowl, and then march on to the Fiesta Bowl, and kick Ohio States tail. It’s time for number 6 baby. And as I say to any hurricane basher…It’s a cane’s thing….you wouldn’t understand.

George Pino, Miami, FL: Congrats on outstanding careers as Canes. Your hard work and professionalism are second to none. You have made the last several years alot of fun and have brought this program back to prominence. Good luck against V-Tech. Go Canes!

Steve Lougheed, Miami, Fl: Hi Guys,You have all been part of my life during the past years.I am proud to be a Cane and have always been proud of the team, Win, Lose or Draw. You will be missed. You will be replaced. But you will never be forgotten. You Gentlemen are now part of the history of the Greatest College Team ever to don a uniform. Good luck against Va. Tech. Thank you, God Bless. Steve

Chris Lovell, Milton, Florida: Hurricane Players,

Thank you for a terrific season and for sll the fantastic memories. I wish you all the best in your final game against Virgina. Your work ethic both on and off the field is a mark not only on your character but also your pride as a University of Miami football player. I wish every player who is leaving the program the best of luck in the future and wish them great success.GO CANES.

Lt Deborah A. Prieto, USAF, Monterey, CA:I’d just like to congratulate each of the seniors on an absolutely outstanding season (three seasons in fact!). I was born and raised a Miami Hurricane, and have been following Hurricane football as long as I can remember. There always seems to be a particular aura of a “swagger” that surrounded the team. Two decades ago, when the team has been at the top of polls and were undisputably the best team in college football, the Miami image wasn’t very positive.

However, the professionalism and teamwork I’ve seen this team play with in recent years is a benchmark for other college football teams to aspire to. There is no “I” in this team – and the seniors on the team played an integral part in building that image.

A fellow alumn and former athletic tutor rooting for you individually and collectively you from the other coast – Best of luck on Saturday and beyond in your lives!

Debbie Prieto,Class of ’99,GO ‘CANES!!!

Bryan Phelps, Stamford, CT: To senior class,I hope you know what you have accomplished this far, and will continue in the next two games, is one of the most special things I have ever seen in college football. Be very proud of yourselves. And as a New York Giants fan, I would love to have William Joseph or Matt Walters ( or Vince Wilfork if he leaves) lining up with Mike Strahan on Sundays next year. Good luck and Go Canes!!!!!!!

Marcus, Orlando Fl: Seniors,

I wanted to say thank you for coming to Miami and helping to build the program back to national status. I must have been difficult to come here when things were not so good. Thanks for making the program respectable and clean. NO ONE in the country can say anything bad about the program anymore. Thanks again and may your football careers or other intrests be succesful.

Marcus

Justin Carlson, Boston, MA: Congrats to the class of ’02, AND to all the players leaving early for the NFL. Celtic Dawn, Ft. Lauderdale, FL: The SI cover Nov. 18, 1957 listed as the main article, “Why Oklahoma is Unbeatable”. That week their 47 game streak ended. ND-7 OU-0 at Norman, OK.I am a loyal Cane but I can remember the shock of that game even now. Notre Dame was not in OUs class but overconfidence got to them.I believe you will not let this happen to an underdog of VTs class.Go Canes.

I even watched you when you lost to Washington. But hey, nobody is perfect. But I just totally love you, you are my TOTAL HERO! But I only have one more thing to add, please when you go in the draft as the number one pick, try to get the RAMS! Then you would be my favorite player ever!

Thanks for the great career down here, Conner Tidmus

Eric Fountain, Ann Arbor, Michigan (via Miami): Hurricane Seniors: Growing up in Miami, I had the priveledge of watching numerous great Cane teams in my youth. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve maintained my enthusiasm for the program, even as the probationary period hurt us. It certainly has been a pleasure watching you all represent the University and the South Florida community by being the most dominant entity in college football over your careers. With you all’s leadership the program has returned as a national power and as a fan, I thank you. I can think of no more fitting reward for the hard work that you gentlemen have put in other than a repeat national championship and to continue the longest winning streak in the modern era. All the best to you as you pursue your individual careers. It’s great to be a Miami Hurricane!
