Coral Gables, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miami baseball team (30-26) received a bid to participate in the 2002 NCAA Gainesville Regional at Alfred A McKethan Stadium, beginning Friday, May 31.

The Hurricanes will be making their NCAA-record 30th consecutive Regional appearances since 1973. UM has made 31 postseason appearances overall, since 1971.

Joining the Hurricanes in the 2002 NCAA Destination Regional are: Top-seeded and host Florida (43-17), second-seeded Florida International (41-18) and fourth-seeded Bethune-Cookman (38-20). Miami, the No. 3 seed, will face Florida International in its opening game.
