CORAL GABLES, Fla.–The 30th ranked Miami women’s tennis team defeated the 64th ranked North Carolina State Wolfpack 5-2 Monday afternoon at the NC State Tennis Complex.

Miami improves to 12-5 overall, while the loss drops NC State to 5-8 on the season.

Miami took the opening doubles point, winning at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions. Katia Bogomolova and Alanna Broderick teamed up at No. 1 doubles to down Loni Worsley and Jackie Leskovar 8-6, while the freshman duo of Sihem Bennacer and Bettina Hafner defeated Myrna Bawono and Katrina Gildemeister 8-6 at No. 3 doubles.

The Hurricanes went on to pick up wins at No. 1, No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 singles.

Miami is back in action Thursday at 2 p.m. playing host to Auburn at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.
