Miami, FL – University of Miami junior Gus Martin (Miami Northwestern) won the 110-meter hurdles and junior Jabari Ennis (Kingston, Jamaica) took first in the pole vault to lead the Hurricanes’ men’s track and field team at the FIU Invitational in Miami, FL.

Martin, who recorded two meet victories during the indoor season, recorded his first win of the outdoor season with a time of 14.46. Martin edged out Anthony Bolton, running unattached, who finished second in a time of 14.79.

Ennis also recorded his first meet victory of the outdoor season with a vault of 4.88 meters (16-0). Ennis easily outdistanced the field defeating Connecticut’s Chris Mazza (15-0) by 12 inches.

Other top Hurricane finishers included senior Joseph Mbayen (Paris, France) who finished fourth in the 100-meters (11.00) and sophomore Dan Boniface (Seattle, WA) who finished third in the 1,500-meters (3:57.42).

Miami returns to action, March 29-31, at the Florida Relays in Gainesville, FL.
