CORAL GABLES, Fla.–The University of Miami women’s basketball team looks to get back on the winning path as they play host to No. 14 Rutgers Saturday at 7 p.m. in Knight Sports Complex.
Miami is 9-8 overall and 2-4 in BIG EAST action, while Rutgers is 12-5 overall and 5-2 in conference action.
The Scarlet Knights lead the all-time series 9-4 over UM, including a six-game win streak dating back to the 1997-98 season.
The Hurricanes fell 81-45 on the road to No. 2 Connecticut Tuesday night for the second time this season. Miami is currently looking to snap a three-game losing spiral.
Chanivia Broussard (Miami, Fla.) continues to lead the UM offense with 12.5 points per game. Broussard has scored in double-digits in 13 of the 16 games she has played in.
Rutgers defeated St. John’s 77-43 Tuesday night in New Brunswick. Tasha Pointer leads the Scarlet Knights averaging 11.8 points per game, 5.9 rebounds and 8.1 assists per game.
Miami is shooting 38.7% from the field compared to 43.5% for RU.
