Moss Named Preseason All-America
Aug. 13, 2000
Coral Gables, FL – University of Miami senior wide receiver Santana Moss has been named to the Sporting News preseason first-team All-American team announced Sunday.
Miami ranks sixth in the magazine’s preseason top-25 poll also released on Sunday. Nebraska tops the preseason poll followed by Florida State, Alabama, Wisconsin and Kansas State. Texas, Florida, USC and Tennessee round out the top-10. UM opponents Virginia Tech (No. 13) and Washington (No. 16) also cracked the top-25.
The Sporting News, which also ranks specific offensive and defensive units, rates the Hurricanes’ receivers and secondary as the best in the nation. Miami is the only team to rank No. 1 in two categories.
