CORAL GABLES, Fla. — The University of Miami Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving teams will open their home season Saturday, November 13th at 11:00 a.m., vs. the University of Tampa at Whitten Student Union Pool on the Coral Gables Campus.
The Hurricane women (1-3) are coming off a split meet against Florida Atlantic and Tennessee on Oct. 23rd at FAU. The ‘Canes beat FAU, 132-128, but fell, 166.5 to 74.5, to the Volunteers. The women have been led this year by honorable mention All-American senior swimmer Amy Lindblom (Milford, CT), junior swimmer Jennifer Weir (Cooper City, FL), sophomore diver Emily Spychala (Odessa, FL), and freshman diver Katie Beth Bryant (Chatham, IL).
The Hurricane men will try and earn their first win of the year after an 0-3 start. The men are led by the All-American diving trio of senior Tyce Routson (Provo, UT), sophomore Stefan Ahrens (Lichtenhagen-Dorf, Germany), and sophomore Imre Lengyel. Junior swimmers Daniel Asencio (Newark, NJ) and Scott Gentles (Atlanta, GA) have also made strong contributions to the ‘Canes.
