Morgan Garris, a native of Gainesville, Fla., joined the University of Miami in June 2025 as a Sports Physical Therapy Resident, primarily working with Olympic sports.

Before arriving in Coral Gables, Morgan worked as a physical therapist at Spear Physical Therapy in New York City, where she treated a wide range of athletic patients, including Broadway performers from The Great Gatsby, and provided on-field coverage for events such as the J.P. Morgan Squash Tournament of Champions, NYFC Women’s Rugby, and EPSL Zum Schneider FC. She also served as a clinical mentor for Spear’s Sports Residency Program and co-led company-wide journal clubs.

Morgan has extensive experience in athletic training and rehabilitation. She previously served as a contingent athletic trainer for Nationwide Children’s Hospital, working with youth sports and pediatric populations. As a student, she gained experience with high-level athletics, including time with the University of North Carolina men’s football team and multiple Division I sports programs at Campbell University.

A former Division I student-athlete, Morgan played women’s soccer at Campbell University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training in 2020. Her personal experience recovering from two ACL tears fueled her passion for sports rehabilitation and collegiate athletics. She went on to earn her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from The Ohio State University in 2023, where she also served as a teaching assistant and sat on the board of the Student Pro Bono Clinic.
