CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami soccer freshman Madelynn Sadusky was named ACC Rookie of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.

Sadusky delivered a career performance in Miami’s 2-1 road victory over NC State on Sunday, scoring both goals to lead the Hurricanes to their second conference win of the season and hand the Wolfpack its first loss of the year.

The Miami native opened the scoring in the 10th minute, finding the back of the net to give the Hurricanes an early 1-0 advantage. After NC State leveled the match in the 18th minute, the teams remained tied until Sadusky struck again in the 80th minute to secure the victory.

The freshman made the most of her opportunities, scoring on both of her shot attempts to record the first multi-goal performance of her collegiate career. Her second goal marked her third of the season and second game-winner.

Across Miami’s two road contests at No. 13 Virginia and NC State, Sadusky played 114 minutes and totaled three shots, including two on goal.

The recognition marks Sadusky’s first career weekly conference honor. Miami has now collected three ACC Rookie of the Week awards, the most of any program in the conference this season.
