CORAL GABLES, Fla. - Miami quarterback Darian Mensah was named ACC Quarterback of the Week on Monday following his record-setting performance in the Hurricanes’ 33-20 road victory over Wake Forest.

Mensah completed 30 of 34 passes for 220 yards and three touchdowns Friday night, helping No. 5 Miami improve to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in conference play. 

The junior opened the game by completing each of his first 24 passes, establishing Miami and ACC single-game records for consecutive completions. Combined with 11 straight completions to close Miami’s victory over Florida A&M, Mensah completed 35 consecutive passes across two games, also setting Miami and ACC records.

Mensah surpassed the previous ACC single-game mark of 18 consecutive completions and the conference multi-game record of 30.

Through three games, Mensah has completed 71 of 79 passes for 873 yards with 11 touchdowns and no interceptions. His 89.9% completion percentage leads all FBS quarterbacks while his 229.1 QB rating ranks third nationally.

Miami returns to Hard Rock Stadium Saturday, Sept. 26, to host Central Michigan. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on The CW.
