PITTSBURGH — University of Miami defensive lineman Rueben Bain Jr. was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with the 15th overall pick in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft on Thursday night at Acrisure Stadium.
Bain became Miami’s second pick of Thursday’s first round and the 68th first-round pick in program history; Francis Mauigoa was selected No. 10 overall by the New York Giants earlier in the evening.
It marked the first time Miami had two players selected in the first round since 2021.
Bain put together a dominant final season at Miami in 2025, earning consensus NCAA All-America recognition and becoming the first player in program history to ever capture the Ted Hendricks Award as the nation’s top pass-rusher.
