SARASOTA, Fla. – For Miami’s rowing team, the next test is here.
After a strong start to the season at the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational earlier this month and a move into the CRCA Coaches Poll, the 18th-ranked Hurricanes are set to race again Friday and Saturday when they compete at the Sarasota 2K Invitational.
The two-day event begins Friday afternoon and features 19 teams from across the country, including four teams ranked in the CRCA Week 3 Coaches Poll: No. 14 UCF, No. 15 Dartmouth, No. 18 Miami and No. 20 North Carolina. The field also includes five teams from the ACC including Boston College, Louisville, Miami, SMU, and North Carolina.
Also competing at Nathan Benderson Park this weekend are Iowa, Tulsa, Jacksonville, Old Dominion, High Point, Drexel, Michigan State, West Virginia, Kansas State, Kansas, Albany, and UMass.
The Hurricanes first race at the Sarasota 2K Invitational is set to take place Friday at 2:20 when the 2V4 hits the water. Racing will continue throughout Friday afternoon and into Saturday.
