Miami Set to Host Hurricane Collegiate Invitational

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami track and field team welcomes some of the nation’s best teams to Cobb Stadium as it hosts the Hurricane Collegiate Invitational beginning Friday.

Action gets underway at 11 a.m. with the men’s hammer throw with action on the track beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday’s competition starts at 9 a.m. with the women’s javelin. Running events are slated to begin at noon with the women’s 100m hurdles.

The Hurricanes were led by Adriana Kruzmane in the first meet of the outdoor season as the freshman registered the longest mark in the triple jump nationally at 13.16m. The men’s 4×100 relay of Ashton Torns, Caine Stanley, Carter Cukerstein and Dylan Woodruffe set the program’s fourth-fastest time in the event at 39.82.
