Miami Track & Field Wraps Up Hurricane Invitational

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami track and field squad posted a strong finish on the second and final day of the Hurricane Invitational at Cobb Stadium.

The men’s 4×100 meter relay team (Ashton Torns, Caine Stanley, Carter Cukerstein, Dylan Woodruffe) took first place in a time of 39.82, which ranks as the fourth-best time in school history.

The Canes swept the women’s 100m hurdles led by Brittney Jennings, who took first in a time of 13.52. Morgan Roundtree finished first in the women’s 400m hurdles (1:02.07). Two Miami freshmen finished 1-2 in the women’s triple jump with Adriana Kruzmane placing first (13.16m) and Dominque Johnson taking second (12.72m). Magdaline Campo won the women’s high jump competition with a leap of 1.76m, while freshman Lauren Kirby placed second in the women’s shot put (15.85m).

Robert Rimmel won the men’s 1500m in a time of 3:57.41. Torns placed second in the men’s 100m (10.50) with Tristen Washington (10.64) finishing third. Robert Joseph was the runner-up in the 400m (48.72) and Dylan Woodruffe (21.12) took second in the 200m.

The Canes host their second outdoor meet of the season – the Hurricane Collegiate Invitational — starting next Friday back at Cobb Stadium.
