Pellacani Earns All-America Honors on 3-Meter
ATLANTA – A night after winning her second straight NCAA national championship, veteran diver Chiara Pellacani capped her University of Miami career with All-America honors Friday night at the McAuley Aquatic Center.
Pellacani was among the top-eight finishers on the 3-meter springboard on the Georgia Tech campus, placing fourth in the nation with a score of 372.90 to add to her postseason awards cabinet.
Her top-scoring dive came on her sixth and final effort, an inward 2 1/2 somersault pike, which scored her 67.50 points.
The performance continued a 2026 postseason that had already featured the aforementioned national championship, an ACC gold medal (3-meter), an ACC silver medal (1-meter) and ACC Championship Most Valuable Diver honors.
Pellacani was the top finisher in the morning’s preliminary round, posting a score of 371.10 to clinch her spot on the night’s finals on the Georgia Tech campus. Among her top showings in prelims was her fifth dive, a reverse 2 ½ somersault from pike that scored her 67.50.
She scored more than 60 points on each of her final four dives to earn her way into the top eight and the fourth NCAA All-America honors of her career.
On Thursday, Pellacani became the first Hurricane diver to win national championships in back-to-back years since Jenny Keim (1999-2000).
Margo O’Meara, who finished sixth in the 1-meter on Thursday to earn the third first-team All-America honor of her career in the event, finished 17th (304.50) on the 3-meter Friday morning.
The Canes currently sit in 15th place in the overall team standings with 48 points. The NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships conclude Saturday from Atlanta.
