Miami Opens Outdoor Season with Hurricane Invitational

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami track and field team is set to open the outdoor season with its first of three home meets, the Hurricane Invitational, beginning Friday at Cobb Stadium.

Action gets underway at noon with the men’s hammer throw while Saturday’s competition starts at 11 a.m. with the women’s high jump. Action on the track gets is slated to begin at 12:50 p.m. with the women’s 100m hurdles.

The Hurricanes are coming off a successful indoor season that saw Miami place fourth at the ACC Championships on the women’s side and sixth on the men’s side. Five individual Hurricanes advanced to the NCAA Indoor Championships as well as the men’s 4×400 relay.

Miami returns five student-athletes that qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships a year ago including ACC champion in the women’s 400m, Sanaa Hebron.
