Miami Earns Fifth Straight Win
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami women’s tennis team (8-2, 4-0 ACC) swept the Boston University Terriers Owls (4-8), 7-0, on Wednesday afternoon at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.
Court two opened the match with a strong 6-1 win from Sofia Rocchetti and Sebastianna Scilipoti over DeMicheli and M. Liu, before Raquel Gonzalez and Dominika Podhajecka secured the point with a 6-2 win against Mikaul and N. Liu at the top court.
Playing out the match, Maria Vargas and Daria Volosova won 6-2 on court three over Borisova and Rai.
Aely Arai finished first, taking down M. LI, 6-2, 6-0, on court four to extend the lead, while Jaquelyn Ogunwale made her 2026 singles debut with a 6-3, 6-3 victory aainst DeMicheli.
Podhajecka then clinched the win for the Hurricanes after a 6-1, 7-5 win on court six over Zhao. The remaining matches played out and Roccheti picked up the 6-4, 6-3 win against N. Liu on court two.
Scilipoti secured the win on court three with a 6-2, 7-6 (1) against Gyuro, while Gonzalez completed the sweep against Mikaul, 7-5, 7-5, at the top court.
The Hurricanes are back Sunday for a rivalry match against Florida State at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.
