Massey, Videment Lead Miami on Day 5

ATLANTA – Sophomore Ashlyn Massey and freshman Isabelle Videment set the pace for the Hurricanes on Day 5 of the ACC Swimming & Diving Championships.

Massey scored points for the Hurricanes by qualifying for the ‘B’ final of the 100-yard butterfly, where she finished sixth in a time of 52.02 at the McAuley Aquatic Center.

Videment, who competed in the ‘C’ final of the same event, touched the wall in the finals in a time of 52.52 to capture fourth in her heat.

Both Hurricanes impressed during the morning’s preliminary round, with Massey finishing 13th (52.47) amongst a talented field.

Competing in her first-ever ACC Championships, Videment was 19th (52.97).

Freshman Sophie Lenze was Miami’s top finisher in the 400-yard IM (4:20.07) to open the morning’s preliminary action. Classmate Phoebe Mayo (4:24.07) was not far behind.

Veteran Savannah Barr (1:47.98) led the Hurricanes’ entries in the 200-yard freestyle.

Miami continues its run at the ACC Championships Friday in Atlanta.
