Canes Sweep Home Tri-Meet with Cincinnati, FAU

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Miami’s women’s swimming team swept a tri-meet against Cincinnati and FAU Monday at Whitten Pool.

The Canes defeated the Bearcats 89-70 and outscored the Owls 108-51 to improve to 4-1 on the season. Cincinnati outscored FAU 117-40 on the women’s side while FAU’s men edged the Bearcats 81-78.

Miami dominated in relay events, taking first in the 1400-yard free relay, 200-yard back relay, 200-yard free relay and 200-yard fly relay.

Three Canes won individual events – Carly Lahr in the 150-yard fly (1:30.42), Ashlyn Massey in the 50-yard fly (26.98), and Sarah Sensenbrenner in the 150-yard back (1:30.72). Sensenbrenner also placed second in the 50-yard back.

No diving points were scored in the two Miami matchups as the Canes’ divers returned today from USA Diving Winter Nationals.

Miami next returns to Whitten Pool on Saturday, January 3, to host Notre Dame.
