Heredia Colon Named an AVCA Player of the Year Semifinalist
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami volleyball senior Flormarie Heredia Colon was named an AVCA Player of the Year Semifinalist, the association announced Friday.
The Santo Domingo, native earned the prestigious honor with a dominant season through 24 matches. She has consistently led the NCAA and ACC in multiple categories and currently leads the nation in total kills, total points, kills per set and points per set.
Heredia Colon has been a threat all season, breaking the program record twice for most kills in match with 38 against No. 4 Pitt and 42 against Florida State.
Because of her strong performances every weekend, she has been named ACC Offensive Player of the Week four times.
This 14-person group will be narrowed down to four finalists on Dec. 15, and the 2025 AVCA Player of the Year will be named Friday, Dec. 19, in Kansas City, Mo., during the AVCA Convention.
