Dear Canes Community,
The calendar has flipped to November, which is one of the busiest months of the year for Miami Athletics. Our fall sports are heading down the home stretch, while basketball season for both our men’s and women’s teams starts tonight.
Football Update
The Canes dropped an overtime heartbreaker to SMU 26-20 this past Saturday in Dallas. Freshman wide receiver Malachi Toney had another big game with 117 total yards, and cornerback Keionte Scott was all over the field, recording eight stops, one sack, and one fumble recovery.
Mario Cristobal’s squad is now 6-2 overall and 2-2 in ACC play with plenty to play for over the last four weeks of the regular season. We have two more home games remaining at Hard Rock Stadium, starting with our Homecoming matchup against Syracuse this Saturday. Kickoff is 3:30 p.m. on ESPN. The following Saturday we host NC State on Senior Day in our home finale. Thank you to all our fans who have created such a tremendous home field advantage at Hard Rock throughout the season. Let’s keep it up these next two weeks! Call 1-800-GO-CANES or click here to secure your tickets.
Basketball Tips Off Tonight
Our men’s and women’s basketball teams tip off their seasons tonight with Canes Hoopsfest at Watsco Center. Tricia Cullop’s women’s team hosts Hofstra at 5 p.m. and Jai Lucas makes his head coaching debut when our men’s team hosts Jacksonville at 8 p.m. Fans who purchase a ticket to the women’s game can remain in the arena for the men’s game and sit in Sections 117 and 118, and students will receive free t-shirts and pizza at both games.
It promises to be an exciting season for both programs. Season tickets are still on sale! Click here or call 1-800-GO-CANES. We look forward to seeing you at Watsco Center throughout the 2025-26 season!

Ring of Honor Class of 2025
We inducted our Football Ring of Honor’s Class of 2025 at halftime of our win over Stanford on October 25. The quartet of legendary Canes features Ken Dorsey, Andre Johnson, Bryant McKinnie and Dan Morgan. We also had six returning Ring of Honor members and the family members of six others join us on the field for the ceremony.
The Ring of Honor recognizes the greatest players and coaches in program history, and it was a privilege to induct the latest members. Congratulations to Ken, Andre, Bryant and Dan, and thank you to all the inductees for being such incredible ambassadors for our football program!
UM Sports Hall of Fame & Museum Class of 2026
The University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame & Museum recently announced its Class of 2026 and it’s one of the most star-studded classes in recent memory.

This class will be formally introduced during an on-field ceremony at our home finale at Hard Rock on November 15 as part of the “Hall of Fame Game” ceremonies. Congratulations to all the new Hall of Famers!
Student Competition
Last month we announced the launch of the Canes Pride Competition within our newly created CanesUnited rewards app. The purpose of the competition is to foster friendly, spirited competition among the UM student body by encouraging student organizations to attend Canes events and offering them a chance to win cash prizes for their support.
A total of $42,500 in cash prizes will be rewarded to the top-attending student groups through the duration of the 2025-26 academic year, concluding with baseball games in May. The student organization with the most attendance points will earn $10,000. Click here to learn more!
100 Student-Athlete Stories
In conjunction with Miami’s centennial celebration, we have created “100 Student-Athletes Stories,” a weekly online series celebrating 100 of Miami’s most successful and influential student-athletes across all sports.
