Morris Leads Hurricanes at ACC Championships

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Miami cross country teams concluded competition at the ACC Cross Country Championships held at the E.P. “Tom” Sawyer State Park on Friday.

The men’s team placed 17th with 539 points while the women’s team finished 18th with 570 points.

Colten Morris led the way for the Hurricanes as he finished 100th with a time of 24:34.2, the fourth-fastest time in program history in the 8k. Evan Pena ran a 25:14.7 to finish 135th just ahead of Sukai Truxal, who finished 136th at 25:17.6.

Enrique Borrego clocked a 25:35.9 to finish 148th, and Alex Severson rounded out the scored with a 151st-place finish at 25:50.9.

In the women’s 6k, Maddie Scheier paced Miami with a time of 21:20.8 to place 107th. Emma Hencock finished 126th with a time of 21:46.1, and Lillian Deskins ran a 22:19.6 to place 146th. Lucia Rodbro (22:40.7) and Olivia Denney (22:43.8) finished 151st and 153rd, respectively.
