Miami Prepped for ACC XC Championships

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Miami cross country teams travel north to compete in the ACC Championships on Friday at the E.P. “Tom” Sawyer State Park.

The meet begins at 9:40 a.m. with the women’s 6k before the men’s 8k at 10:30 a.m. An awards ceremony will follow immediately after the conclusion of the men’s championship race to crown the team and individual champions and recognize the top 21 finishers in both the men’s and women’s races as All-ACC.

Miami concluded the regular season at the Crimson Classic on Oct. 17. Maddie Scheier paced the women’s team to a ninth-place finish with her third top-20 finish of the season with a time of 20:34.5.

Emma Hencock placed 49th at 21:23, followed by Lillian Deskins’s 21:44.5 to place 67th.

Colten Morris powered the men’s team with a 26th-place finish with a time of 24:46.61 while Evan Pena placed 71st at 25:30.4.
