
Scheier Leads Hurricanes at Crimson Classic
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Miami cross country teams concluded the regular season Friday at the Crimson Classic at the Harry Pritchett Running Course.
Maddie Scheier paced the women’s team to a ninth-place finish, earning her third top-20 result of the season. The Somerville, New Jersey, native clocked a time of 20:34.5 to place 19th overall.
Emma Hencock placed 49th at 21:23, followed by Lillian Deskins’s 21:44.5 to place 67th. Lexi Arambulo ran a 21:48.9 to place 71st, and Lucia Rodbro finished 90th at 22:05.8.
The men’s team placed 13th and were led by Colten Morris, who placed 26th with a time of 24:46.1. Evan Pena ran a 25:30.4 to finish 71st followed by Enrique Borrego, who ran a 25:47.3 to place 84th.
Sukai Truxal and Michael Castillo rounded out the scoring with 94th– and 99th-place finishes in 25:57.3 and 26:00.7, respectively.
The Hurricanes return to action Oct. 31 for the ACC Championships in Louisville, Kentucky.
