
Miami Athletics Announces Canes Pride Student Organizations Competition
CORAL GABLES, Fla. — Miami Athletics announced Tuesday the launch of a Student Organizations Competition within its newly created CanesUnited rewards app. The purpose of the Canes Pride Competition is to foster friendly, spirited competition among the student body by encouraging student organizations to attend Miami Hurricanes sporting events, and offering them a chance to win cash prizes for their support.
A total of $42,500 in cash prizes will be rewarded to the top-attending student groups through the duration of the 2025-26 academic year, concluding with Canes baseball games in May. The student organization with the most attendance points will earn $10,000. The complete prize breakdown is below:
- First place – $10,000
- Second place – $7,500
- Third-fifth place – $5,000
- Sixth-10th place – $2,000
To participate, students must download the rewards app by clicking here, creating a profile and selecting their student organization(s). From there they can start attending events to earn points.
Student organizations can monitor the groups leaderboard to follow along with the standings in real-time. Students can begin checking in to events this weekend. Miami’s 18th-ranked volleyball team hosts No. 4 Pittsburgh at Knight Sports Complex Friday at 7 p.m. and No. 10 SMU Sunday at 1:30 p.m. The Canes’ soccer team hosts Syracuse at Cobb Stadium Saturday at 7 p.m..
