Hurricanes Place Sixth at Red Sky Classic; Kaur Records Top 10 Finish

VAIL, Colo. – University of Miami’s Ashleen Kaur recorded a top-10 finish and the Hurricanes finished sixth at 6-over at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic on Wednesday at the Red Sky Golf Club.

Kaur fired an 8-under 64 in the final round of play to tie for ninth at 6-under for the tournament, marking the lowest round by a Hurricane since Sara Byrne recorded a 63 on Oct. 31, 2023.

The Hurricanes climbed up the leaderboard in the final round, shooting an 8-under 280 as a team. USC won the tournament at 45-under followed by Pepperdine (-28), LSU (-19), Arizona (-9) and Kansas (-1).

Stella Jelinek tied for 22nd at even-par as Rebekah Gardner tied for at 5-over. Cloe Amion Villarino fired a 3-under 69 in Wednesday’s final round to finish tied for 44th at 7-over and Aada Rissanen tied for 99th at 35-over.

Miami returns to action Oct. 17-19 for the Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel Invitational in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
