
Olivencia Named Assistant Coach for 2025 Arnold Palmer Cup
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami golf head coach Janice Olivencia will serve as an assistant coach of Team International for the 2025 Arnold Palmer Cup, as announced Friday by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
“Being named an Arnold Palmer Cup coach for Team International is a tremendous honor,” Olivencia said. “To participate and be involved in this amazing tournament with the elite of the elite is what any coach in this field would love to experience in their lifetime. This is an incredibly cool experience, as this is about the players and coaches representing and competing in honor of the great Arnold Palmer with class, sportsmanship, and love for the game.
The Ryder Cup-style competition, which features men’s and women’s collegiate golfers from the United States versus their International counterparts, will be contested June 5-7 at Congaree Golf Club in Ridgeland, S.C. USA leads the all-time series 15-12-1.
Olivencia is the first Puerto Rican (male or female, coach or player) to be selected for the Arnold Palmer Cup.
Team International will be led by co-head coaches Stew Burke (Kansas State) and Aaron O’Callaghan (East Tennessee State).
“I am excited to be part of something bigger than all of us and I am looking forward to the incredible, high-level competition,” Olivencia said. “It will be filled with lifetime memories and I am grateful to be a part of it.”
