University of Miami Student-Athletes Earn Degrees at Spring Commencement
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – During spring commencement exercises this week at the University of Miami, 72 student-athletes are set to earn their undergraduate or graduate degrees.
“Today marks a milestone moment for student-athlete graduates and I couldn’t be prouder of what they have accomplished,” Vice President/Director of Athletics Dan Radakovich said. “They have competed at the highest level while challenging themselves in the classroom. I am excited to see where their life’s journey takes them from here and I hope to see all of them back on our campus often, engaging as proud University of Miami alumni.”
Twelve of the University’s athletic programs are represented at commencement, led by the rowing team with 11 graduates. The full list of graduates includes men’s basketball 2024-25 scoring leader Matthew Cleveland; two-time NCAA swimming qualifier Giulia Carvalho; 2022 NCAA diving champion and seven-time All-American Mia Vallée; and 2025 indoor track All-American Gabriella Grissom. Former student-athletes graduating include NBA veteran Bruce Brown, Jr., who helped the Denver Nuggets win the 2023 NBA title.
