Miami Finishes Eighth at NCAA Lexington Regional

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. – The University of Miami golf team concluded the 2024-25 season at the NCAA Lexington Regional on Wednesday, finishing eighth out of 12 teams.

The Hurricanes totaled a team score of 874 (+10), eight strokes off the cut line, on the par-72, 6,152-yard Champion Trace Course at Keene Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville, Ky.

Miami started the Lexington Regional on a tough note, shooting 12-over-par on day one to sit in ninth after 18 holes. However, the Hurricanes regrouped heading into day two, totaling 16 birdies and finishing the day with a three-under-par score of 285 to sit just three strokes off the cut line.

The Hurricanes put up a valiant fight on the final day, shooting one-over-par in the round, but ultimately fell eight strokes short of advancing to NCAA Nationals.

Junior Olivia Grønborg led the way for the Hurricanes, placing tied for fifth with a 54-hole score of 212 (-4). Grønborg was three strokes away from advancing to NCAA Nationals as the individual qualifier from the Lexington Regional.

Sophomores Barbora Bujáková and Rebekah Gardner finished tied for 21st (217; +1) and tied for 46th (226; +10), respectively.

Freshman Sofie Hlinomazová shot a 228 (+12) to place tied for 52nd, while fellow freshman Cloe Amion Villarino totaled a 54-hole score of 229 (+13), to finish tied for 54th.

Florida State, Georgia Southern, Kanas State, Southern California and Vanderbilt will all advance to NCAA Nationals in California later this month.

TCU’s Sofia Barroso Sá will advance as the low individual after shooting a 210 (-6) over three days.
