From the Desk of Dan Radakovich
Dear Canes Community,
Our campus is buzzing this week as we look forward to spring commencement, which includes more than 70 student-athletes. I couldn’t be prouder of what they have accomplished, and I hope to see all of them back on our campus often, engaging as proud University of Miami alumni. Congratulations to the Class of 2025!
Baseball Pointing Towards Postseason
Our baseball team is surging down the stretch as J.D. Arteaga’s squad has won five straight ACC series and 11 of its last 12 games overall. This past weekend we took two games from No. 13 NC State before Sunday’s series finale was rained out. The Canes are 29-18 overall and 14-9 in conference play and have won 10 straight ACC games for the first time since 2014. Next up is a midweek game against FIU Wednesday night at 6 p.m. We hope to see you at The Light to help the Canes continue this hot streak!
Ring of Honor
Last month we announced our football program’s Ring of Honor Class of 2025, and you would be hard pressed to find a more decorated quartet of Canes.
Quarterback Ken Dorsey, wide receiver Andre Johnson, offensive lineman Bryant McKinnie and linebacker Dan Morgan represent the latest Ring of Honor class and will be formally inducted at halftime of our game against Stanford at Hard Rock on Saturday, October 25.
We are thrilled to welcome Ken, Andre, Bryant and Dan into the Ring of Honor. This incredible class competed during one of Miami’s most dominant stretches and features three national champions, three first-round draft picks and seven national player award winners. All four men are great ambassadors for the University of Miami, and we are looking forward to honoring them on October 25. We hope to see you there, too!
One Goes One
Quarterback Cam Ward was the first overall selection of the 2025 NFL Draft by the Tennessee Titans, becoming just the third Miami player to be picked at the top of the draft, joining fellow quarterback Vinny Testaverde (Tampa Bay, 1987) and defensive tackle Russell Maryland (1991). Cam was an incredible leader for our football team last year and I have no doubt he will bring those same leadership qualities to the Titans at the next level. Congratulations and good luck to Cam!
Tight end Elijah Arroyo (Seattle), offensive lineman Jalen Rivers (Cincinnati), linebacker Francisco Mauigoa (NY Jets), defensive end Tyler Baron (NY Jets), kicker Andy Borregales (New England) and running Damien Martinez (Seattle) also heard their names called on draft weekend. The seven Canes drafted represented our most since 2017, further evidence that Mario Cristobal is stocking his program with elite talent across the board.
This year’s Canes have eight games at Hard Rock Stadium this season, including non-conference tilts against Notre Dame and Florida. Click here or call 1-800-GO-CANES to get your season tickets now!

100 Student-Athlete Stories
In conjunction with Miami’s centennial celebration, we have created “100 Student-Athletes Stories,” an online series celebrating 100 of Miami’s most successful and influential student-athletes across all sports. We launched the first segment of the series on April 7 — the university’s official centennial celebration week — and will be updating it weekly through the rest of 2025. Also in conjunction with the centennial we have published 100 Years, 100 Games: The Greatest Football Games in Miami Hurricanes History looks back at a century of UM football from the program’s humble beginnings to its rise as a college football power. This 162-page book, written by Carter Toole with a foreward by Jimmy Johnson, captures the history, theater and legacy of University of Miami football and is the perfect gift for any Hurricanes fan. We held our 11th annual Celebration of Women’s Athletics on April 28. The CWA has become one of our signature annual events, and we are grateful to all our staff members and supporters who work so hard to give us the opportunity to recognize our outstanding female student-athletes. ESPN’s Andrea Adelson did a terrific job as emcee, and we appreciate her support as well. Click here to recap this year’s event.
