Gandara Announces Leandro Vissotto as Associate Head Coach

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami volleyball head coach Jose ‘Keno’ Gandara announced the addition of associate head coach Leandro Vissotto Friday afternoon.

Vissotto arrives in Coral Gables with over two decades of professional playing and coaching experience, along with a career with the Brazil National Team.

“I’m thrilled to join the University of Miami as the Associate Head Coach for the volleyball program,” said Vissotto. “It’s a tremendous honor to be part of such a prestigious institution and to work alongside Keno, the coaching staff, and an exceptional group of student-athletes.”

Most recently, Vissotto served as the Associate Head Coach at the University of South Florida, where he helped the Bulls to their first AAC regular season championship in 22 years, a 14-2 conference record and an AAC Player of the Year honoree.

Vissotto added, “Competing in a highly competitive conference like the ACC is both a challenge and a great source of motivation. I look forward to bringing my 25 years of experience as a professional player and now as a coach to help these young women grow, succeed, and reach their full potential—both on and off the court.”

After a 15-year playing career with the Brazilian National Team where he earned a silver medal at the 2012 London Olympics and was a four-time FIVB World Champion, Vissotto also served as a player-assistant coach in Brazil’s top leagues.

Said Gandara, “Our goal was to find someone who would elevate our training environment and support our athletes on and off the court. Leandro is that coach. Leandro’s elite playing background and passion for coaching make him a perfect fit for our culture and vision.”
