Hurricanes Close Out Weekend in Gainesville

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The University of Miami track and field team concluded competition at the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational on Saturday at Pressly Stadium.

Gabriella Grissom logged the second-fastest time in program history in the women’s 800m with a time of 2:02.95 in her first 800m race of the outdoor season.

The men’s 4×100 relay of Carter Cukerstein, Ashton Torns, Lance Ward and Caine Stanley won their heat with a time of 39.84.

Calea Jackson placed fourth in the women’s discus with a personal best throw of 50.72m. In the women’s triple jump, Christina Warren posted a mark of 12.91m to place fifth.

The women’s 4×400 relay of Tate, Grissom, Robinson and Hebron closed out the day for the Hurricanes running 3:29.34, the sixth fastest time in the nation.

Miami returns to action May 2-3 as it competes in the LSU Invitational in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and the East Coast Relays in Jacksonville, Florida.
