MBB Signs Four-Star Recruit Dante Allen

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami men’s basketball head coach Jai Lucas announced the signing of four-star recruit Dante Allen Friday evening.

Allen, a 6-foot-4, 220-pound combo guard from Miami, Fla., is the No. 64 player in the class of 2025 per the 247Sports Composite ranking and the No. 12 combo guard in the nation.

“Dante is someone I have had the opportunity to watch a lot over the last three years while out recruiting and he is a player I have always wanted the chance to coach,” Lucas said. “He is an extremely versatile and powerful playmaker who can get the basket and affect the game with his passing ability. Dante comes from a strong basketball pedigree and we are very excited that he is staying home and joining the Miami family.”

Allen played two seasons at Riviera Prep in Miami before transferring to Montverde Academy ahead of his senior year. In 2024-25, Allen helped Montverde to a 19-8 overall record and a bid to the 2025 Chipotle High School National Championship tournament.

The guard averaged 11.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, a team-high 3.8 assists and 1.7 steals per game as an Eagle, earning Nike EYBL Scholastic Third Team All-Conference honors.

During his junior season at Riviera Prep, Allen averaged 21.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. He also helped his AAU team, Nightrydas Elite, capture three straight titles at the Nike Peach Jam Festival.

Allen’s father, Malik Allen, played four seasons at Villanova (1996-2000) and is a 10-year NBA veteran (2001-2011). He is currently an assistant coach with the Miami Heat, a position he has held since 2019.
