FEDERAL WAY, Wash. — Veteran diver Max Flory wrapped up his run at the 2025 NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships with a fifth-place finish on the men’s platform event, earning his second NCAA All-America honors of the week in his final trip to the event.
Flory’s score of 394.45 marked another top-eight finish for the impressive senior from Fairfax, Va.
In total, the Hurricanes diving program posted six All-America performances over two weeks at the Weyerhaueser Center for the NCAA Championships.
Flory’s top-scoring dive of the final round was his fourth effort – a reverse 3 1/2 somersault tuck – which scored him 83.30 points. The 2023 ACC Men’s Diver of the Year took eighth in the 1-meter earlier in the week to open the NCAA Championships with All-America honors, added a top-20 finish nationally on the 3-meter springboard on Friday.
With a sixth-place finish in the morning’s preliminary round, Flory qualified for the night’s final round. It was in the morning’s action Saturday where Flory posted his best effort of the week – a reverse 3 1/2 somersault tuck, the same dive he nailed in the finals – for 88.40 points.
