Three Divers Qualify for NCAA Championships

AUBURN, Ala. – The Miami Hurricanes diving team finished off a successful week of competition at the Zone B qualifying meet, with three individuals punching their tickets to the NCAA Championships.

Men’s diver Max Flory qualified for all three events – 1-meter springboard, 3-meter springboard and platform – while women’s divers Chiara Pellacani and Mia VallĂ©e qualified for both springboard events.

Flory was the top finisher in the 1-meter (720.15) and 3-meter (860.90) at the Marin Aquatics Center on the Auburn campus. The veteran diver also took second in the platform (779.30) to earn another trip to the NCAA Championships.

On the women’s side, Pellacani (626.10) and VallĂ©e (619.25) were among the top-four finishers in the 1-meter, while VallĂ©e was fourth in the 3-meter (696.70). Pellacani was seventh in the 3-meter (680.85) to make the cut.

Pellacani and VallĂ©e will be joining swimmers Giulia Carvalho, SimonĂ© Moll and Ashlyn Massey at the women’s championships, which will be held at Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatics Center in Federal Way, Washington, from Wednesday, March 19 to Saturday, March 22.

Flory will compete at the men’s championships will be held at the same pool from Wednesday, March 26 to Saturday, March 29.
