
Miami Finishes 12th at Mountain View Collegiate
TUCSON, Ariz. – The No. 47 University of Miami golf team placed 12th out of 14 teams at the Mountain View Collegiate in Tucson, Ariz., at the conclusion of the tournament on Tuesday.
The Hurricanes posted a 54-hole score of 910 (+46) on the par-72, 6,345-yard course at The Preserve Golf Club.
For the second straight tournament, sophomore Rebekah Gardner posted the best finish on the team, placing tied for 19th overall with a score of 223 (+7). Gardner has now recorded four top-20 finishes this season.
Junior Olivia Grønborg ascended 17 spots on the final day of action to finish tied for 47th with a 54-hole score of 229.
Freshmen Cloe Amion Villarino (232; +16) and Sofie Hlinomazová (235; +19) placed tied for 55th and tied for 63rd, respectively, while sophomore Aada Rissanen finished the tournament tied for 61st (234; +18).
Host Kansas State won the tournament with a 54-hole score of 868 (+4), while Arizona and TCU rounded out the podium in second and third, respectively.
Miami returns to action on March 10-12 at the Briar’s Creek Invitational in Charleston, S.C.
