Lopez, Rodriguez Earn ACC Weekly Honors
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Grace Lopez and Ariana Rodriguez claimed ACC Player of the Week honors, the Atlantic Coast Conference announced Monday afternoon.
The recognitions come after an undefeated weekend over No. 5 Stanford and Cal.
Lopez, a sophomore, earned the ACC Offensive Player of the Week award after earning 27 kills and four blocks in the five-set thriller against the Cardinal. From Aguada, Puerto Rico, Lopez then tallied 12 kills and three blocks against Cal, for a total hitting efficiency of .421.
Rodriguez, a redshirt freshman, earned ACC Setter of the Week after totaling 71 assists, five kills, four service aces and six blocks. She also put up a career-high 49 assists in the 3-2 win over Stanford.
The weekly honors mark Miami’s fourth and fifth of the season, Lopez’s fifth career ACC accolade and Rodriguez’s second.
The Hurricanes will stay home to face NC State and Wake Forest on Nov. 8 and 10, respectively.
