Ward Selected as ACC Quarterback of the Week
CORAL GABLES, Fla. — For the fourth time this season, University of Miami senior Cam Ward was tabbed ACC Quarterback of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
In the Hurricanes’ 39-38 win at California, Ward led Miami to its second-largest come-from-behind win in program history, erasing a 25-point deficit.
The 6-foot-2, 223-pound quarterback guided Miami to four straight touchdown drives over the final 18 minutes, capped off by a 5-yard pass to tight end Elijah Arroyo with 26 seconds left to complete the comeback.
Ward threw for a season-best 437 yards and two touchdowns, while also running for a 24-yard score in the fourth quarter.
For the West Columbia Texas, native, he was previously named ACC Quarterback of the Week on Sept. 3, Sept. 23 and Sept. 30.
Following an open week, Ward and the Hurricanes return to action at Louisville on Oct. 19. Kickoff is slated for noon from L&N Federal Credit Union Stadium on ABC.
